Every day is a real heading, so Google Docs' outline panel (View, then Show outline) turns into a clickable table of contents for the whole trip.
Room for context
Restaurant recommendations from a friend, a note about which entrance to use at a museum, why you picked this hotel. A document has room for the stuff a spreadsheet cell doesn't.
Comments, not just edits
If you're planning with someone else, Docs comments let them suggest changes to a specific day without touching the actual text, cleaner than a shared spreadsheet where edits just happen.
Print-friendly by default
File then Print produces a clean, readable itinerary without extra formatting work, useful for a physical copy at the airport when your phone's about to die.
If you think in paragraphs, not rows
Good fit if you want to write your itinerary the way you'd explain it to a friend, with reasoning, not just data. If you'd rather track a budget alongside the schedule, or want everything as sortable rows, the Google Sheets version is built for that instead. Same trip-planning logic, different format for a different way of working.
